Blue Ridge Cup 3

The Queen City is hosting round 3 of the Blue Ridge Cup presented by Starr Hill Brewery. Time to show the cutters and foofs what a proper 'cross course looks like. First, no single track. Second, no singletrack. And third, no single track. Lots of off camber grass turns, some gravel, a bit of pavement, some more fast grass turns, steep hills going up and down, forced dismounts via staircases, might even have a barrier section, it's going to hurt. Bring It On.

ok that wasn't really about cyclocross but cheerleaders (and hecklers) are always appreciated. So if you don't want to hurt for 45 minutes and would rather cheer for Staunton's finest or heckle racers from the 'burg or the 'ville be at Montgomery Hall Park tomorrow 10/21 for the race at 5:30.

Beer at Black Dog Bikes or my place around 7.

See ya there.

I'm so excited to hear that there was a course in Montgomery Hall Park!! So how did it go??

I grew up in Staunton but now live in NC. My fiancee has been participating in the CX races here and we actually went to one in Richmond a couple of weekends ago - that course was fantastic!!

Any way that we could try to replicate the course ourselves when we're up for Thanksgiving?

Hey Julie when you are in Staunton, go see James at Black Dog Bikes, he and I laid out the course at MHP. He'll be able to help you. We've been using the park for 'cross practice for a few years and yesterday was the first 'race'. It was just training, but fun nonetheless. No fees, no waivers, no awards, just bragging rights and fun with friends.
Bring your mtn bikes as there are trails at MHP now. http://www.newsleader.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080730/NEWS01/80730001/-1/NEWSFRONT2

Have a great day.
