Betsy Bell and Mary Gray...
These two "mountains" dominate Staunton's skyline. The city has a road to the top of Betsy Bell and has signage posted calling attention to the bike trail.
The road to the peak is narrow but paved and the downhill portion of the loop is dirt doubletrack.
The Mary Gray "mountain" is the smaller of the two but it now has a trail on it as well. This trail is single track and I hope to ride it tomorrow. I just walked the first hundred feet of it today at lunch time.
If you are planning on rolling this new trail, make sure you walk your bike past the old foundation as there is a lot of broken glass on the first 75 to 100 feet of the trail. If you could pick up some of the glass when you are done riding, that would be great.
Thanks to Sam for letting me borrow his camera and sending the images.
